Our Story

How GutMate Began

The Problem We Saw

Chronic illnesses are on the rise, reshaping the landscape of healthcare. Among them, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, remains widely misunderstood and often overlooked. For millions living with IBD, daily life is disrupted by urgent symptoms, stigma, and a lack of tools designed specifically for their needs.

GutMate was created to change that.

Inspired by firsthand experience supporting a family member with Crohn's disease, GutMate is more than just an app. It is a companion.

We didn't build GutMate in isolation. From day one, we've worked closely with:
